The Lodi Arts Foundation, in partnership with the Lodi Arts Commission and the City of Lodi, is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the arts & artists in Lodi. Our goal is to create opportunities for local artists and art-lovers to engage and experience the impact of creativity in community!

  • The Lodi Art Hop is a quarterly celebration of the Arts & Artists in Downtown Lodi presented by the Lodi Arts Foundation in partnership with the Lodi Arts Commission and the City of Lodi.

    The Art Hop is a positive, inclusive space for the community to engage with art-making, support local artists, and experience art in community. Join us to bask in the glow of our local Arts community with an outdoor gallery at Veterans Park featuring 10+ Artists, art-making opportunities for all ages, live music, face painting & more! Hop to nearby exhibits at Double Dip Gallery, Ruby’s Bakery, and the Lodi Community Art Center.

  • Traffic Control Box Call-to-Artists

    The City of Lodi is currently accepting proposals for original artwork to be displayed on several Traffic Control Boxes throughout Lodi.

    Open to all practicing professional and emerging artists and design teams residing in Lodi and surrounding areas.

    The City of Lodi, with input from the Lodi Arts Commission (LAC), will select original artwork to be displayed on several traffic control boxes throughout Lodi. The Arts Commission will determine the specific location for each piece of artwork.

    SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Open until all boxes have been assigned an artist.

  • Financial support is offered each year to promising art and/or cultural organizations with well-planned, short-term projects that serve the cultural interest of the Lodi community. Two (2) types of grants are available for funding:

    Project Grant - $1,001 and above

    Mini-grant - $1,000 and below

    Groups/organizations/individuals may apply for a Project Grant and a Mini-grant in the same fiscal year (July-June). An ad-hoc grant committee, comprised of Lodi Arts Commissioners, review and score each application. Approved grantees are then recommended to City Council.

Wanna be an Art Hop Artist?

The Art Hop features 10 artists showing & selling work, art-making activities for all-ages, live music, and partner exhibits at nearby Double Dip Gallery, Ruby’s Bakery, and the Lodi Community Art Center.

One of the most exciting things the Lodi Arts Foundation has been able to do since 2023 is pay artists to participate in the Lodi Art Hop. Each artist selected will be paid $75 in addition to whatever art sales they make throughout the day!

    The Lodi Art Hop is a quarterly event, put on by the Lodi Arts Foundation in partnership with the Lodi Arts Commission and City of Lodi. We are so honored to put on this free arts event that creates more opportunities for artists to connect and bask in the vibes of our local arts community.

    Information for Participating Artists:

    - Call time for Artists on the day of the event is 9:15am (unless otherwise noted in communications). The Art Hop is from 10a-2p at Veterans Park in Downtown Lodi, 305 W Pine St. Artists are required to participate in the entire event.

    - The Lodi Art Hop is an all-ages event that is open to the public, so please make sure the work you present is inclusive of an all-ages audience.

    - Each artist showing (& selling) work at the Lodi Art Hop will receive $75 as compensation for contributing (with the exception of performers/musicians who will receive $200 for two 30 minute performances at 10:45a and 12:30p).

    - Fanfare is highly encouraged, whatever that means for you!

    - There is enough space for all artists to bring a tent (recommended). If you don't have a tent we will make sure to put you in the shade. Artists are responsible for bringing their own tent, tables, chairs, easels, and anything necessary for your station. Please let us know whether you will be bringing a tent or only tables in your response to this email and we will try to accommodate everyone! 

    - The event will be held outdoors and on grass, plan accordingly for weather. The grass can tend to be wet early in the morning. Don’t forget your chair!

    - An LAF volunteer can be made available if you need to leave your station to use the restroom.

    - Artists are responsible for any art sales.

    Marketing

    - The Lodi Arts Foundation will supply Art Hop branded templates & graphics for social media marketing via Canva and will tag artists in Lodi Arts Foundation Art Hop marketing campaigns.

    - Artists are asked to make a reasonable effort to promote their participation in the Art Hop to their audience (social media, email, etc) in the weeks leading up to the event. Don't forget to tag @lodiartsfoundation on Instagram so that we can share your posts as well!

    Artists are encouraged to attend a marketing workshop via Zoom on Tuesday, March 26th at 7p via Zoom. A recording will be made available to artists who are unable to attend.
